MISSION

The mission of the Building Maintenance is to maintain 55 County buildings, grounds and
facilities to the highest-level possible. The Janitorial section of Building Maintenance is
responsible for keeping the County buildings sparkling clean for the citizens of Pickens
County. The department also serves as the overseer of selected new construction,
refurbishing and upgrades of the County facilities.

The goals for Building Maintenance for this year are:
 

• Provide the most efficient service to all County departments as needed
• Have employees enforce safety rules and report any hazards
• Work on Character First training with employees
• Replace roof at Village Branch Library
• Repave parking lot at Village Branch Library
• Replace 16 year old roof at LEC
• Remove asbestos from the old EMS 1 and EOC Buildings
• Remodel cells at LEC
• Replumb bathrooms at Pickens County Prison
• Build a new work release building at Pickens County Prison
